Hello friends! Welcome to another edition of Heavyweight, a monthly report of my fitness journey.

What went well?
I got 14 workout sessions in. I went from 12 kg to 16 kg kettlebells on the 14th.
I continued to take creatine, which helped me feel less sore.
Started taking magnesium again, which improved sleep quality.
Both my suits need to be altered because of the weight I’ve lost.
What could’ve gone better?
I did too much too soon, which led to me tweaking my back on the 26th.
Two sick kids and a broken washing machine lead to emotional eating.
I was lax during the Easter octave, meaning I wasn’t as diligent with the 7 PM cutoff and had a few sweets during the week.
Results
Month on month, I’m down 5.2 pounds. However, it looks like I lost 6 pounds of body fat, which is even more exciting. Maybe next month I’ll add muscle mass to see how that's going. Today, I’m at 156.2, which is considered high according to my scale app’s standards.
Year to date, I’ve lost 13.2 pounds of weight and 15.2 pounds of body fat.
Overall, since I started Heavyweight in July, I’ve lost 25.2 pounds of weight and 29.2 pounds of body fat. That’s an average of 2.5 pounds lost every month, not too shabby.
The trends are going in the right direction. There were several days in April when I weighed under 300 pounds, which was exciting. I need to keep at it and break through this up-down pattern. I think looking at the whole timeline is motivating. There has been progress made, but I’m not done.

Before I go
Do you track your life with spreadsheets?
What would be a good celebratory treat?
Do you have any questions, comments, or encouragement?
March: 230
April: ??? (bought a scale, and an ad-hoc weighing showed 225)
May: 218 🥳
VERY happy with this progress, i've been walking daily and fasting better and eating better. It's working. When I hit 200 i'll match my previous low-point, and if i'm very lucky I really want to push myself to 190 for psychological reasons. We'll see if my current regimen will accomplish that or if i'll hit a natural plateau where I have to change something again. This wasn't a perfect month eating wise, but I paired feasting with fasting and that seemed to help avoid the worst of it. I would lose more if i was more diligent, is the lesson I'm taking away from this.
1- I used to track my life with spreadsheets, not so much anymore. It's great when it's going great but utterly disheartening when it's going badly.
2- Good celebratory treat for me is always ice cream. No substitute for it.
3- Encouragement, this is a VERY POSITIVE installment of heavyweight, good on you my dude! Keep on keeping on, you're doing something and it's WORKING so keep it up!!!
1. Only for my complete reading list.
2. A glass of fancy whiskey?
3. You're moving in the right direction!
