Don't put anything behind a paywall. Not yet--turn it on and keep growing. Once you get 5 paid subs--start thinking about it. Once you get 10--start doing it! But don't stress about differentiating the paid content until you have grown your paid subs.
Congratulations Walther on a well deserved one year of writing. God bless you and yours and thank you for sharing your voice with the world!
Not to go off-topic, but now I'm wondering if I went the wrong track; I started a rolling paywall but then again I don't have any paid subs. On the third hand, I should know what I'm doing? *shrug emoji*.
Nothing wrong with the rolling paywall! The important question is--can newcomers access the inception of your major stories? Can people try before they buy? I think if they see your current writing they will get a taste, and feel the desire to go back and pay to see evrything. Honestly I like the rolling paywall idea. Something Walther should think about! But you aren't expected to offer something different as soon as you turn on paid subs. It's ok to let them trickle in first--then you can ask them what they would find valuable! Or you can capitalize on that brand new idea. Just make it low stress!
Congratulations on a year! I have hopped in periodically but I'm going to go ahead and hop in the subs. Keep sharing your voice! I'm looking forward to what's ahead, especially in between the tortillas. (¿De maíz?)
1. My favorite kind of cake is probably lemon cake. I love all cake though. Except anything with coconut. The texture of coconut on cakes is just horrible to me.
2. I have read older work and yeah I mostly cringe.
3. I have no idea what an albergue is. Come on man, I’m super white. I just told you my favorite cake was lemon.
4. My favorite snack to bring on a hike is beer. Well, I guess it’s probably a PB&J. The beer is for when the hiking destination has been reached.
5. Michael should definitely sing a birthday song!
I just realized I didn't answered your question about the meaning of the word albergue. Albergue is something between an inn and a hostel. People who walk the Camino de Santiago (a pilgrimage through to Compostela where St. James is buried) can stay in an albergue. They are all over the walking route of the pilgrimage and you can get a meal and a bed for cheap.
*I will be summoned*

1. Does tiramisu count?
2. Sí como no
3. No
4. Granola bars with chocolate chips
5. That'd be a sight

Thank you! Regarding the tortillas question: por qué no las dos?
I can go for either, but the maiz feels more healthy in these days of cakes and desserts 🫠
Everything in moderation, including moderation.

"I just told you my favorite cake is lemon" LOL
I haven't had beer in my fridge in a while. Maybe today that will change. Have you ever had Old Rasputin Imperial Stout?
I’ve not had that but I’ll give it a try! I also have not had any in my fridge in a while but have already planned on changing that.

Oh we hear it’s your anniversary *clap clap*
Now go eat chocolate cake.
*exeunt*
Thank you! I appreciate the theater lingo.
