You should tell Diana about Great American Family. They’re the new Hallmark-type channel that was founded by the former Hallmark CEO who quit that company for very honorable reasons. GAF tends to have even better humour than Hallmark, more original storylines, and just all-around better quality and values. You never need worry what’s going to be in a GAF movie (unlike Hallmark sadly), and as a Christian company, I highly recommend them.

My sources tell me she's aware of it because of DJ Tanner going to GAF. Do you know if they're on a streaming platform? I can't find them anywhere.

There's a hook-in to Amazon somehow. Chantal recommended their Longfellow biopic to me and i was able to get it on amazon and it offered a subscription/trial or somesuch. (I also second the recommendation of the Longfellow biopic)

They also have their own streaming platform called PureFlix. You can watch more of the GAF original movies on there, as well as the PureFlix Christian-themed films (they also have VeggieTales on there).

Amazon just has individual movies, like Scoot’s recommendation of I Heard the Bells. GAF as a channel is on most streaming platforms except for YouTube TV. Which streaming platform do you use?

We have Amazon prime video, Hulu, and Peacock. I know Hallmark is on Peacock but I wonder if GAF would be in the other two /shrug

If you have Hulu live tv, GAF is on that. I’m not sure about Peacock, but I don’t think they’re on there.

1. Yes. I actually watched “Three Wise Men and a Baby” last year. Hey, I was sick with Covid.

2. Yes. Italian and Yankee/New England. It’s weird.

3. Pastina cooked in chicken broth with a little Parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. AKA Italian penicillin.

No judgement here. Did I get the plot mostly right?

As far as I recall. I honestly don’t remember much about the movie. I just remember feeling awful….and grateful. It was a very grace-filled time.

Thank you for sharing your way to making Caldo Tlalpeño, because it's going to get cold around me and this will be a perfect soup for the weather.

I always appreciate your Mexico City stories, since my dad is from DF and admittedly he doesn't share too much about his growing up (for complicated reasons). However, I'm going to share your Carlos Fuentes rec with him!

Side note: My parents barely missed the 1985 earthquake. They had just returned to the US after visiting my dad's family when the earthquake happened. Everyone was okay, all things considered.

1) Yes, and I love to watch it to nitpick. However Netflix Christmas movies are the new ones I love to roast.

2) Careful, I can talk about this topic forever.

3) Cuban food is my comfort food. I currently live in a city that's extremely lacking in it, though I can make some things at home!

I giggle every time someone says they're eating ropa vieja. Now I want a Cuban sandwich.
