I'll probably get the tree out this coming week. I have a new set of nativity figures so will do that this week too. The old set is being retired to my office desk where I can look at them while I work. I have quite a lot of alcohol ( wine mostly, including sherry and port) ready and purchased the Christmas chocs this week from my local, real life chocolatier. Handmade chocs are the best.
All of a sudden we have three nativity sets. We were not trying to start a collection, people gifted them to us. St. Joseph and a shepherd have lost their heads at the hands of our two year old. They're currently in triage and waiting for the surgeon to get super glue.
What kind of sherry/port do you drink? I've seen cocktails that include these as ingredients but I haven't pulled the trigger on buying a bottle. I have yet to make Negus with Tawny Port.
Regarding this chocolatier, do you need my address or is the package already in the mail? That sounds amazing.
St Joseph in triage! 😁 On the sherry, I like a sweet variety so buy Gonzalez Bypass "Nectar" and that describes exactly what it tastes like. Most sherry ( at least in this country) is dry and I hate it. The port - trying a new one this year so I"ll see.
We have had a bit of a boom in handmade chocolate locally though, but I am incredibly lucky having a chocolatier 1.5 miles away, given my chocolate addiction! I try to be very self- disciplined on that.
Dickens definitely liked punch. I don't think Mr. Pickwick lived through a single episode if his 'papers' without drinking some. Even when he was in prison.

Congrats for the kids! Hope they are having fun and developing a really good mindset for life. <3

Spoiler alert. Some of us may have not read The Pickwick Papers yet.
